I’ll start this by asking the obvious questions. Have you checked the position of the lights? The intensity? Are they pointed in the proper direction? Is there some type of layer in the way? Look for the easiest answers first, you may have inadvertently moved the position of some thing or other. I find that usually it’s something like that.
What happens if you add an ambient light to the mix and crank the intensity way up?

mmmm, That’s strange as any project that I make in 16 bit depth seems to work with lights. Maybe it is the files that you have imported. Have you tried a text layer to see if it shows up?
