    Hello All,

I am editing a a large documentary project shot on the 5D. I’ve converted all my footage to ProRes422LT.

    Editing using FCP 7.0

My old IMac is on the fritz so I am switching over to my Macbook Pro 4GB RAM NVIDI GeForce GT 330M 256MB GDDR3.

    A few questions:
    1-Should I upgrade to 8GB RAM
2-I am having recurring messages saying “Error: Out of Memory” if I leave the project for a while. It seems I may need to convert some JPEGs in the project to TIFF
3-FCP is crashing on me. Occasionally I will get a diagnostic message, other times not.
4-Can my graphics card run a second monitor?

So far, I’ve wasted time and money trying work arounds and at this point I need a stable solution.

Your advice and help is greatly appreciated.
