Error message when making Proxies on a PC
Hi Everybody:
We are in a mixed platform environment, editors on Mac and Producers/Media Coordinator(me) on PC and for some reason I can’t make Proxies when I am on a PC, I get an error message (-2048) but my editor can make them with no trouble at all.Suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated as we are new to CatDV.

So many possible reasons. Here are your starting points:
Is the proxy share mounted and mapped correctly on the PC with r/w permissions? (Macs see “/Volumes/proxy-drive” and you see 😛 or :F or whatever?) “preferences>Media Search Paths” is where you’ll find this setting.
Do you have the correct codecs to view and export the formats that you have selected?
Is your version of quicktime up to date on the PC?
Nothing earth-shattering here but these are the common things we see with PCs and Macs sharing an environment.

-2048 is usually missing codec in quicktime. Make sure you have the same codec available on windows.
