error message on XDCAM import
Hello
Can any one help with this problem importing?
I’m using Avid Media Composer 5.5. The project is XDCAM. The footage was shot on the Panasonic AF101 recording to a Nanoflash in the MXF format, and brought to me on a drive. Hundreds of clips of imported successfully, but not this one.
When I drag the camera file (.mxf) to the bin, the import begins; video and Audio files are created on the media drive, before an error message says:
Exception: XDCAMHiresAudioimportReader::LocateSamples – Sample miscalculation
No clip appears in the bin.
I have used Media Tool to identify the media on the media drive, and then dragged the Media Tool clip to the bin. The clip appears in the bin, but on attempting to open, gives this error message:
MPEGMapper CalcTemporalOffset Did not find first temporal sample
An error message early in my attempts suggested a conflict regarding number frames (4082 not 4104).
I have tried modifying, consolidating and transcoding, and have also deleted the AMA log files, as suggested on the Avid Knowledge Base.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, I got it working somehow. It imported following a succession of attempts. Unfortunately I can’t remember precisely the steps, but the important thing was that there were specific frames that had been causing the problem, and depending on where I placed the position indicator in the Source monitor, it would either play or produce an error message. Once at that precarious stage, I marked and In and an Out early in the clip, and then nudged the Out along until I found the trouble spot. I then brought the Out back from the trouble spot, and exported the marked portion with native settings to produce a fully reliable replacement file.

I’m getting this error in 6.0
Just trying to consolidate and move some files off my drives to a back up drive. I selected “delete original” and “skip media…. Already on drive”
Any thoughts? Thanks! -
Give it a go as per my previous message.
But I would deselect ‘delete original’ and ‘skip media’.

I’m doing some tests with MC 6 and i’m getting this error when i try and import a clip recorded from a Omneon Spectrum. One of the clips have tied importing didn’t even have audio associated with the it. stil the same error.

I’m not so familiar with MC6 or the Omneon, so all I can advise is to persevere or try to find some other software that might allow you to load, mark and export a sub clip to as an independent, functional file.
