error batch digitizing imported edl/omf file

I’m new to prro and i’m testing it with the axio card and i have following problem:
I’m importing an edl (cmx 3600) or an omf file into ppro and the timeline looks ok, dissolves are there, speed changes and everything but when i want to redigitise my timeline in online quality premiere wants to redigitise the whole source clip, instead of the little portion that i need in my timeline (fe i have used 1 sec of tape 11, premiere wants to recapture the whole of tape 11 for 40min!!!).
A workaround this is to export the (just imported)timeline out of premiere in cmx 3600 and importing back into premiere, then in the bin you see the clips instead of the whole tape….weard!
Has someone else noticed this problem and if so are there hidden issues when recapturing the second import?? -

Sorry can not answer your question but I have one instead:
Why do you need to re digitise for online quality ? What was the original capture from/for and how/why did you do that ?
(Maybe I just assume that you capture from DV via a firewire.)
..and how did you import an OMF ?

I work in a normal proffessional line up where you would offline on one machine and then in a other machine you online.
I offline on aviddvexpress and my material is shot on Sony hdcam.
The omf is imported via automatic duck.Grtz
