error 26::335 layer does not have a source
I want to replace a layer while retaining all of the properties. I highlight the layer and use alt+drag and drop but I get the error “layer does not have a source”. What is AE trying to tell me and more importantly how do I resolve this?

Same problem but not the same solution for me.
I am trying to replace a light (holding 3D position data) with a .mov layer.
I’ve tried various file types but it won’t let me. Keeps throwing the error 26::335 layer does not have a source. This is apparenty standard practice for integrating 3DS or Cinema4D
Any ideas??
