When I try and import a movie it says “Error when trying to open codec”
but you see my cousin also gets this but the movie actually works after he gets that message. Here it just shows the peak(peek) and says “NO PEAK(PEEK)”

theres nothing wrong with the codec, what should I do?

When I ran into this problem in the past I installed the ‘Ace Mega Codec Pack’ and since then have never had an audio or video clip that I can’t play other than some Avid clips. This pack can be installed in various operational modes and there is ‘Dashboard’ which allows you to install/remove codes as you whish. I have it installed on three systems and have had nothing but success with it. Go to

    https://www.free-codecs.com/download/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack.htm

and you will see all the codecs listed. You can also download it at this site, it’s free!

IMPORTANT! It’s always advisable to create a System Restore Point before installing most codecs just in case they do conflict with any other app you have on the system. At least this way you can go back if necessary.
