  • Equivalent of the After Effects ‘Slider’ to control multiple values at once?

    Hi,

I would like to change the strength of dozens of Random effectors at the same time (from 100% to 0%). Of course I could do it on one and copy-paste the keyframes to all the others, but I was wondering if there is a way to link all values to one specific ‘parent’ value, much like the ‘Slider’ effects in AE where the value can be linked to other layers.

This would allow me to play with the values and keyframes as much as I please without having to manually replicate the changes on all the ‘children’ layers each time.

    Many thanks.

you can do this with Xpresso and User data. Create an xpresso tag on a new null, for example, then in the attributes panel, look for user data, then create, add a slider. In the xpresso tag, double click, and drag in the null and add the user data you created. then drag in the random effectors and add the property you want to control. link them up. depending on what you’re going for you may need a range mapping node.

You can also do use set driver set driven to help set it up….

    Thank you Andy!

I still have never used Xpresso so that’ll be a first, but with your step-by-step guide hopefully I’ll manage 🙂

    Have a great day.
