Equipment Set-Up Help
We have a Kona 3 card in a Mac Pro, with a Kona 3 Breakoutbox, a Sony M25U deck, PVM-20L1 20-Inch Production Monitor and a Sony BetaSp Deck.
To this point, we’ve had no luck connecting everything. We need to be able to input from Beta and the HDV deck as well as output to both decks.
I was recently told we would need the AJA HD10AVA converter to help pull this off. I wanted to post here in hopes, someone could steer me in the right direction, or offer a suggestion on the set-up to resolve the issue.
It’s our first set up. Any advice or help is highly appreciated.

First off, we have an AJA Kona forum where you can find a lot of useful information by doing a search of that forum.

The Kona 3 only has digital inputs. In order to capture from analog sources, you need to add either an Io LA for SD analog sources or the AJA HD10AVA for SD and HD sources.
Note that the AJA Kona LHe has digital and analog inputs so you can connect the equipment directly to that with no converters. But you do not get Up and Cross conversion with that card.
We run two Kona 3’s here with two HD10AVA’s and one Io LA.
