I was recently sitting in a class in which we can bring food and have a party every Friday (no, I’m not in first grade, the teacher’s really cool) and some other students pulled up a music video on a computer. I got bored and decided to watch it and I saw an effect that I really liked. I won’t get into how it was shown, I just want one element of the shot. It was a series of bars, similar to the one created in the volume bar tutorial (can’t recall the author), but each of corresponded to the volume of a certain range of frequencies, such as the ones shown on an equilizer. I’m wondering if there is any way to create an expression to produce values such as the ones needed for an effect like this? The more I think about it, the more I convince myself there won’t be, but I thought I’d throw it out anyway.

    Thanks.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was looking for! I’ve got some extra cash and I love the effect, so I’m considering buying it.

    Thanks again!

Or if you like challenges…. You could isolate audio frequencies and assign them to different layers.

    Cheers,
