  • Encore strange characters in subtitles

I’m importing subtitles from Subtitle Edit 3.3.7, and they look fine in the prog, but when I import them into Encore, at the end of of every line, there’s a strange character that looks like a square with a cross in it.

I assumed that’s a CR/LF symbol, but when I open it in Notepad++, and remove it, it doesn’t remove it from encore.

However, in encore, I can manually delete the strange character, and it goes, but when I then export it out of encore, and open it in notepad++ (showing all characters), there’s no difference, so I can’t actually make out what it is I’ve deleted!

All files are encoded UTF-8 as specified by encore..

Any suggestions? I can’t go through the whole film deleting a character from each subtitle! 🙂

    I hope this makes sense.
