    Hello,

I imported a Mpeg 2 video from Adobe Premiere in 720 x 480 Format. It plays in the timeline great, but when I preview there are 2 large black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, and when I burn I get the same. How do I make it burn full screen? Thanks
    Eli

What’s the aspect ratio of the clip? And the pixel aspect ratio?

Well I created it in Premiere at 720*480

720×480 could be square pixels, or it could be DV 4:3 or 16:9. Which is yours?

hmmm, I know it’s the preset in Premiere for DV 720 X 480. I’m not sure if it’s square pixels or not, is there a place I can check?

Check your project settings…all that information should be there, including video codec used, audio bit/sample rate, etc…the more information you can provide, the better. Once we know what kind of file you are trying to use in Encore, we can then make a better assessment of what the problem may be.

    I’m Using

    Editing Mode : DV PLayback
    Timebase 29.97 Fps
    720 X 480 4:3
    Pixel aspect ratio – D1/DV NTSC (0.9)

    Does this help?

So figured out what happens, I just don’t know how to fix it, When I import the Mv2 into encore it automaticaly switches the timeline to a 16:9 ration, I just don’t know why

Ok I figured it out, When I exported the project as an Mpeg 2 with the Adobe media encoder, I accidentlly hit the 16:9 aspect ratio, so even though the project was 4:3 it exported to a 16:9, Dang that was a pain! Thanks for the help, you got me thinking!

Aha! I had a feeling it was something like that.

Glad you found it, and thanks for the update.
