    Hi All,

I’m new to encoding to H264 and am having problems exporting from Final Cut Pro.

I am working with a 29.97 DV format and attempting to export to QT for download and computer screen viewing. When I export via QT to H264 I get a movie file with a ton of interlacing line interference – jagged edges showing up during any moment of fast movement.

Any hints as to what I need to do? Is this a Keyframe Issue? I’ve tried selecting Deinterlace in Qt Pro to no effect. I also tried the same process through Compressor.

Any guidelines as to what to do to achieve the best looking H264 file out of a 29.97 DV Final Cut QT movie would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks.

Probably the most common mistake, and one I was guilty of at first, is to use the default keyframe setting during the export setup. Try setting the keyframes to “every 900 frames” and see how that one turns out.
