    Hi all. I have a project with 12 tracks of audio that appears to be mixing down into two tracks.
    On export, I have twelve streams of audio each mapped to a separate track from the sequence and the export marked ‘discrete’ but they are still mixing into just two mono tracks.
    Is this a Sequence setting?

    The note I’m getting from the network is “The good news is that we’re seeing 12 channels of audio but the bad news is that they are all on a single audio steam instead of 12 discreet mono audio streams.”

    Below are notes from Failed test (from the Network we are delivering to):

    CH1 = Mono mix (should be SFM L per slate)
    CH2 = Mono mix (should be SFM R per slate)
    CH3 = MOS (should be M&E L per slate)
    CH4 = MOS (should be M&E R per slate)
    CH5 = MOS (should be Dialogue per slate)
    CH6 = MOS (should be FX/SOT L per slate)
    CH7 = MOS (should be FX/SOT R per slate)
    CH8 = MOS (should be MED L per slate)
    CH9 = MOS (should be MED R per slate)
    CH10 = MOS (should be Music L per slate)
    CH11 = MOS (should be Music R per slate)
    CH12 = MOS (should be Narration per slate)
    -Audio mix is poor (narration and some dialogue is drowned out by music – likely because all stems are being summed in mono mix)
    -Audio levels are above spec, peaking -0.0 dBFS with digital clipping

    Can you post a screen shot with your export settings? What are you kicking out as?

    Hi Joshua,

    Did you find a solution to your problem? I would love for you to share your findings.

    Cheers,
    Damien

    Damien,
    Thanks for following up. Turns out this was an audio track mixer issue with the project and sequence. I’m honestly not sure what needed to change to get it working as I ended up just getting a template sequence from the network we are working with and copying and pasting into it. There must be more nuances on how tracks are mapped that I’m not aware of. Originally all 12 tracks of mono audio were getting condensed into two stereo streams and the output monitor bars only had the two tracks playing. Then in the new project I was able to see all 12 channels playing on individual channels–(so 12 little dancing yellow bars instead of two). I guess the lesson is just to ask for a template when possible 🙂
