Sorry I posted this on the DVDSP forum but aint had any response

    G5DP 2.5Ghz
    7GB RAM
    Decklink SP
    FCP STUDIO

    Hi
I am looking for the best way to digitize mpeg2 from component.
Is anybody using the capture box from playbox? How does it work with the decklink? Does the decklink only supply the remote RS422 and the box does the job with its own component in and out?
    Any comment appreciated
    thanks

Might look at Sorenson’s capture card running on a PC…

I’ve not heard of a solution for a Mac… might be one out there but don’t think so… shoot, I’d be prone to getting a faster Mac and doing the encode the “old” way.

To further speed up things, a render farm will work with Compressor…. i.e. for each mac you add, the faster it encodes. Works with Shake too.
