Does anybody have an easy way to “empty the recycle bin”???
in the admin i have removed all my catalogs…
do i have to go into the mySQL and trash the items in the bin.. there?? (i sure hope not)

January 10, 2011 at 12:59 pmIf you go on to the server machine and click Perform Housekeeping it will empty clips more than 2 weeks old from the recycle bin. It will also do that when you shut down the server.
If you want to manually delete clips from the recycle bin sooner than that, use the CatDV client to open the recycle bin for editing (right click on the recycle bin under the Anonymous catalog group), then delete the clips and publish changes.

June 9, 2020 at 4:46 pmHi when you press empty recycle bin in the desktop client, will it delete actual mediafiles on the disk or only database entries. I am confused becasue it says deleted xxx mediafiles, but it seems they remained on the disk (which is what I wanted btw)

June 10, 2020 at 7:13 amThere’s a difference between media files on disk and clip records in your database. If you cut or clear clips from the Edit menu (and then publish changes to the database) that just deletes the clip records.
Emptying the recycle bin permanently deletes clips on the server that you have previously deleted there. Deleting media files is only done if you use commands from the Media menu.
If you still have problems please email support@squarebox.com with full details including screen shots and details of which version you’re running etc.
