So, I was rushing out the door & left my assistant today to log a bunch of footage I had dragged into a project, and she spent the day doing it, and left. When I came back I got the “cannot autosave until you save” error, and when I clicked “save” it brought up a greyed-out save box that I can’t access… Meanwhile, the “autosaving project…” window is still foreground. I can’t close that, I can’t close the other. Am I completely SOL?

Is there possibly yet another dialog that has focus and is hidden somewhere that I can somehow magically resurrect with some yet-unknown mac hotkey?

PLEASE help me save these couple of hours of work. I assume there’s no “vault” file anywhere because it is an “untitled project 1”

If someone responds “why didn’t you save first?” or says something disparaging about my assistant without helping, I will find out your IP, and hunt you down. 😉

    Thanks.

    Cory

For reference, this bug still exists in v 7.

FCP tries to autosave when the project is in the process of being saved for the first time
It then goes into an infinite loop and force quitting seems to be the only way out.

Gosh dang it! This blows! Apple should fix this easy bug.
