Electricity ala Star Wars Emperor in Episode VI?
Hi,
I need to do an effect where electricity/lighting leaps out of a person’s hand and envelops another person in the shot. Think the end of Star Wars VI where the Emperor’s hands are shooting lighting and shocking Luke Skywalker (before Darth Vader picks up the Emperor and dumps him over the edge of whatever that big hole was).
Any helpful suggestions or pointers to useful tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Unfortunately I only have AE 6.5 and those projects are in AE 7. Any quick advice on how it’s done within the project files? Do they have a few lightning images that they move around, or is the lightning completely synthesized somehow?

I’m pretty sure he uses the standard Lightning effect in AE.
