Activity Forums Adobe After Effects effects on a text layer?

    I assume that you can’t put effects on a text layer until you prerender the effects layer, much like photoshop. Or I could put the effect on an adjustment layer above the text. I guess that’s the way to do it.

    Yes, you can put effects on a text layer directly. I have yet to see any effects that don’t work, but I’m not sure if there may be some specific effects that are not compatible.

    Yes, you can effects on a text layer.

    The third paragraph of this page gives information about a difference in rendering order on vector graphics layers like text layers.
