Effect to mimic starting and stopping a film camera
I’m trying to recreate an effect that’s produced when using film. When you shoot film and you start and stop the camera quickly, you get strange speed aberrations, mixed with over exposures, or flashes of light. It’s a very cool effect.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin that could mimic this effect, or a way of doing this in FCP or AE. I’ve tried manually, but it doesn’t look the same.

Nattress has a plug-in called G Film Flash. I couldn’t work without it. Does the film start/stop perfectly!

Thanks! Great tutorial. The footage is great, but I don’t know if I can shell out the $$$ for it. The theory behind it is great. I had no idea that these could be done so easily in FCP! Thanks a lot for the help!
