Has anyone had success importing an EDL into Vegas 6? If so, in what format (CMX, GVG, etc) was the list created? Does Vegas read dissolve information in EDLs?

    Thanks!

forget EDL use AAF ( edl on steroids)
EDL ( this thing is very old ? 25 years) is very limited …
most kinds of transitions are slightly/very differerent in each NLE so you may have to adjust/change transitions. there are certain limitation on number of video /audio tracks ..

    Donatello,

you’re right. AFF is the future. But some projects come to us with conventional CMX or GVG formatted files. Avid boxes can read those files. FCP can read those files. And it would be very helpful if Vegas 6 can read those files, understanding as I do that they have some limitations.

I’m looking to see if this software will work in today’s real-world situation as well as the future of editing, which looks pretty darn interesting.
