Hello first time poster here, always had a lot of help from everyone here by just reading the threads.

I was asked to produce a kind of press kit. Just a DVD with some videos on it.
I work with FCP but the kit is meant for Avid editors aswell as other platforms.

    My Question:
What kind of export (except Uncompressed, which is to big for my Five clips to fit on a DVD) do you guys suggest so that evey editing platform can ingest the material?

    Thanks so much in advance

QT Photo JPEG might be compatible with more systems than any other probably… fairly clean looking too. Artbeats uses this for delivery of their stock footage I know.

    Tim,

Do you mean data files of the movies or a playable DVD?

    Have a wonderful day.

Jerry, Chris, thanks for the quick response!

It’s going to be a data DVD.

I’m actually not an advanced editor, just starting.

To my shame i’ve not heard of the QT Jpeg format before, but i’ve tried it and it seems very good quality with less MB’s.

Are you sure any editor/system can work with this? That’s the most important thing.
It’s meant for broadcasting and Pal use (Netherlands).

    Thanks very much!

    Tim,

Photo jpeg is very common, anyone can work with it. As Jerry says most stock footage comes in this format.

    Have a wonderful day.

I agree with Jerry and Chris. PhotoJPEG at 75% is 422. The quality is incredible and the files smaller than DV.
Don’t worry about the footage being NTSC. In PAL land the people have the habit of using tutorials with NTSC footage as the most part of them comes from the USA.
