Editing with red footage and need to know what kind of hard drive to get
I am working on an ultra low budget feature shot with red camera. I already transcoded the footage to Pro Res 422 (1920 x 1080) and saved it on WD 3TB drive. Now, I want to start editing my project and I read some discussions and found out that WD drive might cause problem. The transcoded material used 1.9 TB of the drive and I am thinking to get a more reliable drive (raid) and start the project on that one. Does any one have a recommendation for a good external hard drive that would work best with red footage. Would it be okay if I keep the transcoded footage on the WD drive and start my project on a new drive? I would really appreciate if you help me to figure out this.

Get your self a 4 drive raid. and a E-Sata Card.

Thanks Chris. The G speed es seems very good but it’s a bit expensive. Do you know any other brand with a better price?
