Editing with different formats
I’m organizing footage for a documentary that was shot on different formats (HD, MiniDV)and have a question about our workflow approach. We have media that was originally shot at 23.98fps and 29.97fps. To allow the editor to work quickly (not rendering sequences duing the edit) we want to make converted copies of the clips using compresor, all to DV/NTSC 720×486 29.97fps. We would edit with these “copies” with the hope of later relinking the original media (with consistent clip names) to our final sequence. The aim is to have the best picture quality possible in the end. Will we have to manually conform the media that was shot at 23.98 if we do this? Any suggestions, ideas for ways around this? I appreciate the help – first time on the forum.
Thanks – Amy
