    Hello,

I’m beginning to edit a show that was shot on 24p. I have a few questions:

    1. What should i use for my capture settings? I’m using the special DV-NTSC 24p pulldown capture settings, but for an hour of footage it’s only taking up about 13GB. The default compressor for this setting is DV/DVCPRO. I tried switching it to Uncompressed 8-bit but the picture looked terrible. Is the default setting for this the best quality i can get?

    2. What should use for my sequence settings? I have to deliver this on digibeta to air in January and i have to convert it to the proper FPS. I’m assuming that, because all of the footage is 24p and i have to deliver at 29.97, i’m going to have to render everything that i put in my timeline.

    THANKS!

I just found this website through one of the posts here: https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/24p_in_FCP_nattress.html

And it pretty much explains everything. I was using Advanced 24p instead of regular (i’ll have to redig). I still have one question: Will using the Easy Setup for 24p as described on this website give me the absolute best quality for the 24p that i shot?
