I’m trying to find out the best way to edit Palm Treo 3gp video in Final Cut Pro. I’m able to import it in FCP but I don’t know which setting is best for editing in. I know I’ll probably have to render but I’m trying to cut together different clips and add music.

I’ll be exporting and uploading to a website. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could make this work painlessly?

    Thanks
    Steve

I don’t know what format the Treo records in, but it’s a good bet it’s something involoving GOPs and i-frames and whatnot.

Try putting the video into MPEG Streamclip (free program online) and see if it can open it. If it can, convert it to whatever you usually edit with. DV or uncompressed or whatever. Edit that version. It should go a lot smoother.
