    Hello
I have a video files that I want to edit in FCP 7.03 but the software don’t recognize de file. (mpg extension)
I shoot with JVC 110U and the capture was from the cassette.
Also I try to convert the files with Toast titanium but I have the same problem. Software don’t recognize the file. Can someone tell me what I am missing? What’s the problem?
    Thank you very much

If you happen to have Adobe Media Encoder installed give it a shot.

Seems that that camera, beside recording on tape (DV/HDV), also records on a hard drive or so.
Ansd seems as well thet you are not the only one trying to edit these files from the HD in FC (https://www.videomaker.com/community/forums/topic/jvc-gyhd110u).
The brochure sais: “In addition to providing an instantaneous back-up recording, recordings made on the hard disk can be accessed directly by popular non-linear editing systems eliminating the need for file transfer. This Direct To Edit™ feature (DTE™) provides producers with a take-away tape copy while providing editors with the ability to begin editing immediately”.
Seems that FC is not among those most popular NLEs.
I’m afraid you will need to capture from tape or try a PC with those files.
