Editing in HD
Hi,
I’m editing on Vegas 8.0 using windows Vista and I’m having all sorts of problems. I have 4 gigs of ram and a quad core 2.4 ghz processor. My video card is a Radeon HD.
I’ve imported HD footage from my friends JVC Everio which pulls in as a proprietery M2T format I beleive, but I converted it to MPG. When I attempt to trim clips, add effects, or even expand the timeline my system slows to a crawl. It gets so bad with 3 or more video tracks that I can’t edit.
I’ve attempted converting all of the video to AVI but still had a similar experience. Is there any kind of upgrade I can do? I love Vegas but if I can’t edit HD I may have to soon move to a mac. My friend has a iMac and edits HD on iMovie as smooth as silk. I don’t want to move to a mac, but I may have to. Can anyone help?
