Editing in FCP for colour-grade
I’ve done basic editing in FCP before for smaller video projects, so don’t know too much about it.
Now have a bigger one at hand that was shot on a RED. I’m currently transcoding all the coverage to ProRes, but wondering:
Once I move over to Final Cut 7 with my newly created files: Are there any settings for import (or any data settings etc) I need to watch out for when preparing this edit to give to a colour grader afterwards?

What software will the colorist be using?

I would assume Resolve or Magic Bullet Colorista as these seem to be standard over here.

You need to transcode using a workflow that maintains file name, folder and timecode so that the colorist can reconnect the r3d files when you deliver the xml
RED make such a batch converter – RedcineX. Check with the colorist for the right workkflow and also check the advice on the RED sight and forums
