    Hi from New Zealand.

I have HD footage that I want to edit into a SD 4:3 ratio sequence. I know the HD footage will have crop lines at the top and bottom. I can place HD footage into the sequence and use the Motion/Scale feature to scale the footage to 49%. I don’t think that this is the best way to achieve a quality SD edit result. Can anyone help??

    Cheers…Pete

If you want the footage letterboxed, you can use compressor to downconvert the footage to SD and letterbox it at the same time. Just create a custom setting and add the letterbox filter.
