Has anybody experience with it? I’m Avid novice, so I dont know much about it, but I’m really courious if it can edit HDSLR footage without problem (and color correct it with Magic Bullet Looks).

You use AMA to access and import the footage. And from there you should transcode to DNxHD. Even though Avid marketting and a few people will say that you can edit it native, it really is a bear unless you have a top notch system. Transcoding makes things run smooth as butter.

AMA transcode is to DNxHD is faster than the import process. AMA is near real time, while import is 2x to 2.5x longer. Also, 5.5.1 give the same if not more control over levels via AMA as the traditional import.

I’ve never noticed a speed increase with transcoding over importing.
but, I’ve also never bothered to time it.
