Editing HD on FCP 4.5 HD
Hi Everyone,
I have a bunch of video that was shot on a Sony HVR V1U HDV 1080i.
I would like to edit this video on FCP HD 4.5
Is this possible? It is the HD version of FCP… Shouldn’t it be working? I am able to play back the video on the camera, and when i have it playing and hit log and capture, but it is not showing up in FCP.
Also, any particular settings for final cut pro you advise I use for the edits?

I used the easy settting provided in the easy set ups….it was the only way I could get it to work everything else I tried responded the same way as yours.
I dont change anything when it comes to editing.

FCP 4.5 will not edit HDV, that was introduced in FCP 5. And I believe that support for the V1U did not come until FCP 6.
You need to get the new version of FCP if you wish to use HDV from that camera.
