I am editing a flv I found on youtube in fcp with the help of the perian plug in which makes flv files compatible with quicktime based apps. My problem is that the flv file is 10 fps, is it possible to set the sequence editing timebase to 10 fps? and the audio depth is 32 bit floating point, which is also not available in the sequence audio settings pulldown menu. much appreciated if anyone can help me out with this…

Just because you can import it, doesn’t mean that it works. FCP doesn’t work with FLV, no matter what plugin you get.

You MUST convert the footage to a codec FCP works with. Like ProRes, or if it isn’t HD, then DV/NTSC.

thanks for responding so fast, ive been stumped on this. what do you recommend using to convert the flv into a dv/ntsc file? the clips are 640 x 480.

Try DV NTSC 720×480 or ProRes 720×486.
