Editing Column Headings
I’m trying to edit the column headings in my bin. This seems a simple task at first and am hoping for a simple solution…
1. so I’ve edited the “master comment” heading to be “location”.
2. I’ve saved my layout as “test1”.
3. Opened a new project.
4. changed my layout to custom “test1”.
“master comment” heading is “master comment”.
What I was hoping for and expecting was “master comment” would be “location”.As long as I stay in the project where I edited the column heading the custom layout will show the edited name but new projects go back to the default names.
What I am trying to do is be able to use our FCP logging info for a Digital Asset Manager. I know I can only edit 6 column headings but I think between those and the rest of the meta data that FCP tracks I’ll get enough info. We haven’t purchased a D.A.M. yet but I don’t want to have to go back a year from now and re-log. We have 4-6 people logging and it would be very convenient if everyone was using the same column structure and not having to use a matrix of “comment 1” is subject, “comment 2” is copyright etc. but that will be our last resort.
Thanks in advance,
Bill
