  editing caption to timeline doesnt respect in / out points?

  Hi – so i create a caption with text. this is in the project bin.
  i add an in and out point to the timeline where i want the caption, but
  1) I cant double click and add it to the source window to then edit into the timeline with “.”
  so i have to
  2) drag it ti the timeline, but the out point on the seq isnt respected and the caption overwrites other media furthe down the timeline on that track.

  Please explain why and what i should be doing different
