  • Editing audio from nested projects

    Hi all

First post here – just looking for advice.

Imported from a DVD to try and fix the audio but after having problems with importing VOB’s directly I tried using the “DVD Camcorder Disc” option which seemed to work well. Then I imported all the separate files to separate .veg projects with the intention to nest themn all eventually into one project.

However, the “DVD Camcorder Disc” option has split all the scenes and I want to edit copies of the audio in Sound Forge.

    So…
If I have (for example) audio from one scene in three different .veg files, how can I edit those three audios as one in Sound Forge and them re-import to Vegas?

Maybe a bit basic for some of you but would really hep me out.

    Many Thanks
    Craig.

One way (may not be the easiest!) is to open 4 instances of Vegas. One blank and the three with the audio files you want. Drag the audio files from the three over to the blank one and arrange as desired. Then I believe you can close the three with the audio files (or at least minimize them). Then you can highlight the one audio track (with the three audio files on it) and open it in your audio editor.

Many thanks Terry. The importing idea worked a treat!
Only problem is that there is now a notable glitch between the different audio files.
Is there any way in Vegas to crossfade between the files?
I’m not entirely sure this is possible as there is no excess either side to crossfade over.
Also can various audio parts be “glued” together like can be done in many audio editors?
    Many thanks again
    Craig.
