Editing a photo montage in FCP7
I have to edit a basic photo montage for a client. No graphics. Just moving images cut to music. I edit on FCP7 and putting moves on numerous photos can time-consuming. Is there a plug-in that would allow me to edit the photos similar to iMovie? I hear FCP 10 works well with photos, but I haven’t familiarized myself with it. I have iMovie, but it doesn’t give me the creative flexibility I need.
Any recommendations to streamline the workflow in FCP 7?
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Just use FCP 7, which you already know, learning a new app or plugin will take you even more time. Find an app or plugin when you have free time, and learn it for the next time around.

Doing the montages in FCP7 can go faster if you remember that you can cut and paste attributes into clips, so, if you make, say, four custom moves, you can then keep copy/pasting all that keyframing work so you only need to trim up the timing a little.
Apple Motion can also work for this. CoverFlux is a nice free plug-in, but there’s already montage templates in there.
