Hello there i am a video editor using FCP.till now i was editing documentaries and short films but now i’ve got a feature film to edit and i am totally new to it.I have a I mac G5.I have now installed a Xeon processor and upgraded my Ram to 3 gb.I have also bought a 1 tb external my book for storing the scratches. Is that all going to help me out in editing a full length film with ease and comfort on FCP?Can i use one single timeline or make different segments? Will i get the file from the client in a hard drive?and lastly in which format i should export the film? quicktime or what?

    Regards

    Abhishek

From an editing viewpoint, I have always cut each ‘scene’ in it’s own sequence and dropped these sequences into a ‘master’ sequence. I cannot claim this is the best way to do things, however it made the re-ordering of scenes much easier than having a full cut on the timeline.
