    Hi!
I am starting to work on a project that was shot in 23.98 fps. The footage I will be receiving with be on a down converted DV Cam tape that is 30fps. I know that I am going to set my project at 23.976 fps so that when I am done with the cut, my edl will be in 23.98fps.

I have never worked in a project this way and I am wondering if there are certain settings I need to make sure are right or any other caveats I should be aware of. I know that since the footage I am coming into the avid with is 30fps, i DO NOT hit the film option on my project settings. Anything else I need to be aware of? I’m afraid to get to deep into this project and then realize that I screwed something up in my initial settings and have to start over.

Any advice or tips would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Go to Film/24p settings and set:

    1. NORMAL Cadence (2:3:2:3) Assuming the the downconvert was 2:3:2:3
    2. Set pulldown to 00:00:00:00 active and “A” frame
