I converted all of my WMVs to MP4 with Total Video Converter, but I can’t edit with them on FCE, because the files are too laggy to edit with!

Is there a better converter I can use that will convert and bulk without lagginess in Final Cut?

mp4 files are not a proper editing codec in FCE or FCP

The only codecs that FCE is compatible with are DV and Apple Intermediate Codec.

And what tool can I use to convert to AIC that won’t make the file size too big? I tried MPEG streamclip, and the file was 1gb for DV, and there wasn’t an option to convert to AIC 🙁

    Hi Jeremiah,
AIC has a similar data rate than DV.
Is around 12/13 GBs per hour.

To work with the WM files you will need to install “Flip4Mac”.
With that QT Component installed, you can open the WM files on any QT application (FC, QTPlayer,..), I guess on FCE too.
