Long time FCP user but new Kona LHE user. I just finished a project that I want to lay off to a Sony Beta SP UVW 1800. The tape has been striped with black and timecode. In the Edit to tape window I’ve set an in point and click insert. I get an error window that pops up that says “Incompatible Compression Settings…”

I’m using the “AJA KONA LH-NTSC 8 Bit to DVCPro50” easy setup. The KONA control panel is set for analogue output. Video does pass through to the deck as I can see it on the monitor.

Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

Drag the sequence from the browser to the assemble overlay of the edit to tape window.

This bit of advice is actually in AJA’s FAQ list.

Its bewildering that the discrete set of editing controls DO NOT work, while the drag-and-drop to the Canvas method does.

Does anyone know why this is?

The edit controls in the Edit to Tape window work IF you have your sequence loaded into the Viewer window, not the Canvas (timeline).

You have to drag and drop your sequence into the Viewer, then you can use the Insert and Assemble coontrols.
