Edit to tape In to Out lasts only 1 frame
I have had a problem when trying to do a “In to Out” edit to tape. When I would perform this function FCP would only lay 1 frame to tape and then stop. The ins and outs on the VTR indicated the proper in and out times, but FCP would stop after one frame.
I had searched the forum and found that others had similiar but intermittent problems. Here is the solution. I found out that the ref setting on my VTR (Sony HDW2000) was set to incoming video instead of my proper external reference. As soon as this setting was changed to external all was fine. I assume this may be the same for others using other VTR’s. My VTR was taking an HD SDI signal in via a Kona 2 K Box.
One other thing to note, when the reference was incorrect it caused problems with my Kona card and caused a popping in the audio. Since the audio is carried on the SDI line this seems to make sense.

Wow, thanks for that, I have had the issue and always let things solve themselves by restarting things. this is something I will keep an eye out for.
