Does anyone know the best way to get a project to a Mini DV tape using a Sony HDR-FX1, and still keep broadcast quality?

I have my “VCR” mode on the camera set to DV, and I am working with an HD 1440 x 1080 project file. In the past I have tried “Print to Video”, however it seems to really compress the file, and lose a lot of quality. I was recently told Edit to Tape would be the best way to go. When I go to Edit to Tape, I get a message that reads:

    “Incompatible compression settings”

I think I understand why, because I am using HD footage going to DV, but I have no idea what settings to use. If anyone knows an easier process to this, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you very much!

In order to record to DV you have to send it DV… so you need to down convert your HD sequence to DV NTSC (using compressor or QT Conversion) then import that DV file and print that to your DV tape from a DV sequence.
