edit techniques
Posted by Wolfus on October 8, 2007 at 12:43 amI am looking for a great place to find great edit techniques. I try a lot of new things like split screens, tv boxes, etc., but need some inspiration for some great new techniques and transitions. Any ideas?

It sounds like you are looking for effects techniques. The book reviewed above by Kevin Monahan is getting a bit long in the tooth, but is still great.
And this book:

is excellent as well.

October 9, 2007 at 5:10 pmI’d also recommend the Apple Pro Training Series books. They really give a grasp all the features that Final Cut has to offer, through learning tutorials; also, its the book you need to go through to become certified by apple as an end user or trainer.

October 12, 2007 at 12:22 amI recently recommended the FCP On the Spot book to a friend who is a long time Avid editor. He came to FCP about 18 months ago.
He was more than functional with FCP prior to reading the On the Spot book, but afterwards his efficiency and confidence went way, way up.
Great bang for the buck.
