I have a feature coming up. They are shooting 35mm 3-perf and I will get telecined DVCAM Editors Tapes and Telecine logs from the lab. I plan on doing a reverse telecine of all footage and editing in 24 frame per second timeline. This is all off-line editing as I will export an EDL for the lab to re-transfer for DI finish.

Now comes the question: I have to travel a bit and was wondering if I can use my MacBook Pro to work on. Is there a device that I can monitor with – such as the Matrox MXO version2 and perhaps a Dell LCD monitor?

Has anyone had any adventures with such devices?

    Thanks

FCP can add pulldown upon playout over firewire.

Not sure about the MXO. An AJA io will do it (even an io LA or LD).

Yeah, I guess I could do that. I do have one of those Nitro AV Firewire Expresscards so the IO would have it’s own firewire bus. I’m only in SD so maybe that’s the best way of looking at it.

    Thanks,
