echo effect in premiere translating very badly into youtube
hello,
i’ve made a video for some band involving 2 cameras recording their gig and then overlaying them. This edited video has then gone through the ‘echo’ filter with an incremental increase in the effects opacity.
It looks great on my computer but youtube absolutely hates it. The final video when viewed online i not only blurry but also a lot more pixelated than the original.
I’m not unfamiliar with upolading things online at a high quality. I’ve tried exporting the file from premiere then compressing in compressor, exporting it directly out of final cut using the ‘youtube widescreen hd’ preset, as well as setting my own parameters based on what the recommended compression settings are around the web and nothing seems to make a difference.
Reading around seems to suggest that its an issue with using multiple layers on a video and then converting it for youtube.
does anyone know how i can get around this when it comes to the final export?
suggestions appreciated as always.

Premiere has a YT preset. Works great.
Or use one of the HDTV presets under H.264.———————————————–

I just upload 2 HD music video type projects recently. They looked great on YT. I exported from Premiere at full HD resolution to a mastering format (DNxHD) to archive. Then I just uploaded the file and let YT do the conversion. It takes a bit longer. But when it plays back at 1080P, full screen in YT, it looks wonderful.
