  • Easy audio track question

Posted by Kelly Griffin on August 1, 2011 at 7:39 pm

I have L & R channel audio on a video clip… I want to simply ignore (delete) R channel and use L channel on both L&R (in other words, I want to keep L channel and copy that to R channel so both are the same).

    How do I do that?

    Thanks,

    –Kelly

You’re right – it IS easy (once you know how)…

Just right-click on the audio event in the timeline, and You’ll see a “Channels” menu. Under that you can select “left only” or “right only” to use one source channel for both output channels. You’ll then get mono audio.

You can also combine (mix both to mono) and swap left/right channels.

Also if you wanted to make two mono tracks from a stereo, just copy the event to another track and using the same method select left for one and right for the other.
