Hey, I’m doing a video of the earth exploding in space and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how best do this. I’ve got AE 6.5 Pro so I’ve got motion tracking but I’m not sure if that’s the best way. I also have Trapcode’s Particular but haven’t found an explosion that really looks good with an earth space explosion. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    -Jason

How realistic do you want this to be ?

Can you combine a falling apart of a 2D “blue marble” image using say ‘shatter’ with some stock footage of an explosion and a lensflare,

or do you want the opening sequence of jerry bruckheimers “Armageddon”, then you’re looking at some serious 3D rendering and particle effects.
Not the sort of thing you can pull off using only AE.
