Dynamic link refresh?
Posted by George Loch on November 1, 2011 at 5:26 pmI have a Premiere Pro project where I am using a dynamic link to AE comps on the timeline. I assumed that when I made changes to the AE comp they would update in Premiere but, I can’t get it to reflect the changes. Is this a known issue?

November 1, 2011 at 6:33 pmWorking fine for me. Do you have Production Premium or Master Collection installed? That’s the only way to get dynamic link between After Effects and Premiere Pro.

November 1, 2011 at 7:10 pmMake sure you SAVE in AE before toggling back to PrP. I have never bumped into this issue and I use DL a lot.

November 1, 2011 at 9:50 pmIt is production suite. I assume DL wouldn’t work at all without it correct?

November 1, 2011 at 9:52 pmHmmm. Well, I have saved both and closed both and brought them back up and they still don’t reflect the changes.
Strange stuff

November 1, 2011 at 9:56 pmThat is very strange stuff. Yes, if you just bought PrP and AE (not the suite) it is my understanding that they wouldn’t work. What are the versions of PrP and AE ?

November 1, 2011 at 9:56 pmOk. I deleted the render files and re-rendered the entire sequence and the updates appeared. I should have tried that before asking.

November 1, 2011 at 9:57 pmNice. Good trouble shooting. I will have to remember this trick if I ever bump into this issue.

August 12, 2012 at 3:22 amDynamic Links WAS updating right away but not any more!
To refresh my Premiere Dynamic Linking I have to exit Premiere then start the program again.
Ugh! Memories of Premiere CS4 are coming back.
I am Running The Master Suite (whatever that pack is) and a pretty loaded computer. This must be a software issue.

June 3, 2015 at 10:44 amI confirm that this problem exist in CC between Premiere and AE. The only fix i found is to erase render…
