  • Dynamic Link in AE to premiere pro not working greyed out

Posted by Christina Rule on January 22, 2015 at 8:06 pm

I am using Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC

When I right click on the file “replace with after effects comp” is grayed out

When I try and drag the primer seq into after effects I get this error:

“after effects error failed to connect to adobe premiere pro dynamic link 86::1”

any ideas what could be wrong?

What is the exact version number of Premiere?
What is the exact version number of AE?

We need to you to be a lot more specific than “CC”. We need full version numbers down to the last decimal.

Also, is your Win7 updated to Service Pack 1?

And there’s your problem. You’re running the CC version of Premiere, but the CC 2014 version of AE. Premiere’s latest version is 8.2.

You can’t use Dynamic Link between different whole version numbers. 🙂

Hey thanks so much. When I ran the update manager for our Production Premium suite it’s not saying there are any new updates for premier…. is there somewhere else I need to download?

    Thanks for everything

It’s not an update to Premiere; it’s a whole new version.

You just download it via Creative Cloud.

Hey, I was wondering if you could help me. I recently just got Premiere and the adobe dynamic link button is greyed out in it.
My program versions are listed as:
    After Effects CC: 12.2.0.52
    Premiere CC: 9.0.0.247

I don’t know much about what these numbers mean, but please reply! I’ve been looking for a solution for like 3 days :/
