Dynamic Link in AE to premiere pro not working greyed out
Posted by Christina Rule on January 22, 2015 at 8:06 pmI am using Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC
When I right click on the file “replace with after effects comp” is grayed out
When I try and drag the primer seq into after effects I get this error:
“after effects error failed to connect to adobe premiere pro dynamic link 86::1”
any ideas what could be wrong?

January 23, 2015 at 3:59 amWe need to you to be a lot more specific than “CC”. We need full version numbers down to the last decimal.
Also, is your Win7 updated to Service Pack 1?

January 23, 2015 at 2:11 pmAnd there’s your problem. You’re running the CC version of Premiere, but the CC 2014 version of AE. Premiere’s latest version is 8.2.
You can’t use Dynamic Link between different whole version numbers. 🙂

January 23, 2015 at 9:21 pmHey thanks so much. When I ran the update manager for our Production Premium suite it’s not saying there are any new updates for premier…. is there somewhere else I need to download?
Thanks for everything

January 23, 2015 at 9:29 pmIt’s not an update to Premiere; it’s a whole new version.
You just download it via Creative Cloud.
